Approach to Paediatric Surgery

Mr Naparus's approach to paediatric plastic surgery is child-focused, putting the child at the centre of every consultation. He takes an unhurried approach and works to build excellent rapport with each young patient, so that the experience is calm, reassuring and comfortable from start to finish. He is gentle by nature and has extensive experience managing children of all ages, including complex patients with multiple problems.

All paediatric procedures are performed at The Portland Hospital or Chelsea & Westminster Hospital Private Care, both equipped with dedicated paediatric facilities.

Conditions Treated

• Prominent Ears (Otoplasty / Pinnaplasty) — Ear correction for children from age 5–6; also adults. General anaesthetic for children; local anaesthetic option for adults.
• Ear Tags & Accessory Auricles — Pre-auricular skin tags, accessory auricle excision.
• Head Shape & Plagiocephaly — Assessment and management of positional and deformational plagiocephaly. Liaison with paediatric neurosurgery where required.
• Dermoid Cysts & Facial Swellings — Dermoid cysts, epidermoid cysts, congenital midline lesions.
• Vascular Lesions — Infantile haemangiomas, port-wine stains, capillary malformations, lymphatic malformations. MDT management with dermatology and interventional radiology.
• Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) — Surgical management of NF1-related lesions; MDT care co-ordinated via Guy's Hospital.
• Craniofacial Reconstruction — Complex reconstruction following trauma or oncological resection.
• Skin Cancer in Children — Urgent excision of melanoma and other skin malignancies in paediatric patients.
